Press release Forest June 17, 2024

The city of Paris has just launched the public domain occupancy agreement (CODP) for the operation of a fleet of self-service electric bikes without attachment in Paris.

For a period of 4 years, each of the 3 selected operators will be able to provide between 3,000 and 6,000 bicycles. Candidates will be asked to propose a fee (minimum €25 per year), with a response due by July 31, 2024.

Forest, No. 2 in London for 5 years, positions itself for Paris

Forest, London's second-largest self-service bicycle operator with up to 50,000 daily trips, has officially positioned itself to operate the city of Paris.

Present in London for 5 years, Forest has convinced 12 London boroughs to grant it licenses thanks to controlled and responsible growth naturally taking a major place in London travel. Having achieved profitability without successive fund-raising campaigns, Forest is ready to take on the Parisian challenge, and why not expand to the inner and outer suburbs as well.

Durability and reusability of spare parts

"When Forest was created, one of my major concerns was the reuse of used spare parts. It seems inconceivable to me to throw away repairable spare parts. For example, we have engineers who open and repair faulty engines rather than replace them with new ones. This has the double advantage of being sustainable and economical: 80% of spare parts are repaired by our London teams,” explains, Caroline Seton, co-founder of Forest.

The real green bike

Forest stands out not only for its commitment to sustainability, but also for the iconic fir-green color of its bikes, in harmony with Paris's famous Davioud benches and Wallace fountains. This color, chosen for its aesthetic appeal and integration into the urban landscape, also reflects Forest's commitment to the environment.

As well as being one of the only B-Corp-certified operators, Forest uses exclusively green energy to recharge its bicycles and maintenance vehicles, which are also 100% electric (via supplier Octopus).
